By Jennifer Diane Reitz
One is just as blind in a room filled absolutely with light
as one is blind in a room of absolute darkness.
It is impossible to see without the contrast of shadow,
just as it is impossible to see without the delineating light.
This is all well and good, and heard often.
But what many fail to see is that the light
is the source of shadow,
light creates shadow,
and shadow in turn creates the concept of light
because without it
'light' has no meaning.
The two are inseperable, because one not merely always
implies the other, but because each create the other.
With enough light, you see the dark.
Why is there evil in the world?
Because some fool went and invented goodness.
